Start with the property's cabling and entry layout, then compare the communication, video, app and door-release features required. For a replacement system, do not assume that components from different series are interchangeable, even when they are made by the same brand.
2-wire, 4-wire, IP or wireless?
The correct platform depends on the available cabling, distances between components, property layout and future expansion plans. A 2-wire system may suit a compatible retrofit, while a 4-wire intercom kit may be appropriate for selected like-for-like replacements. IP systems commonly use network cabling and suit new builds, smart homes and more scalable installations.
